Christmas Day (2009)

Pre-Christmas Festivities

January 14th, 2010

The days leading up to Christmas were filled with all kinds of fun adventures.  Tanya’s parents arrived to celebrate the holiday with us, and they joined us on a few traditional Christmas outings.

Christmas Lights in Blackstone

December 28th, 2009

Another annual tradition we’ve developed is a trip to Blackstone to see the model train exhibit and the Christmas lights.  Bevill’s Hardware Store, where the trains are set up, was closed the night we decided to go.  But the Christmas Park was in full swing, so we grabbed our coats and some hot cocoa and enjoyed the season for a bit!

Swift Creek Theater

December 28th, 2009

Every year, the early learning center at Kenston Forest School goes to Swift Creek Mill Theater in Petersburg for their annual Christmas play.  It’s specifically written for the children;  the unique characters return each year, but they write a new story and music for each year.

Abigail is beginning to really enjoy this trip, and Jon has gotten to go with her all three times now!

Thanksgiving

December 28th, 2009

To add to all the holiday confusion (thanks for mentioning it everyone), now we’ll post pictures of Thanksgiving.  My goal is to be caught up by the end of today.

Halloween Night 2009

December 23rd, 2009

Halloween is still so much fun in places like Kenbridge.  Hundreds of kids and parents crowd onto 5th Avenue as the sun begins to set, and the trick-or-treating is fun for both kids and adults!
