About This Site…
Well, as you can tell, we’ve upgraded the-parks-family.net to what I lovingly call “version 2.0.” But while that might sound tech-savvy, the truth is we’re just now getting caught up to the 21st Century. Things are still (as you can probably tell) under construction, but if anything seems out of place or confusing to you, please let me know and I’ll work to fix it ASAP. Great thing about this new format (I’m using WordPress now) is that I can change things easily enough… and also update more easily, though that might not mean we’ll get things out as regularly as we should!
As we keep working, a couple of things to note:
- I (Jon) have combined the blogs I was using into one – notesfromjon.wordpress.com. But if you want, you can just check here – all those blog posts will come up here as well. I did two separate sites so I could send my ministry colleagues to the other one. I can’t imagine telling one of my ministry mentors, “Hey, go check out my sermon from last week. It’s right under the picture of Kaitlyn picking her nose…”
- If you use Google Reader or any other feed reader, you can get the feed from this page to update you whenever a new post comes up. If you don’t use Google Reader, I’d recommend it. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, ask! Or if you’d rather not bother, we can set you up so that the site emails you when a new post comes up. Just let me know how you’d like to stay up to date.
- COMMENTS are more than just welcome – they are appreciated! At the bottom of most pages, you’ll see a box and a line something like, “Leave a Passing Comment…” If you have a second, please leave a comment about something you see that made you laugh, or think… or just tell us how life is going for you. We LOVE comments! And if you see something I’ve written that particularly strikes you or makes you think (or makes you angry even), I’d love to know that what I’m saying means something to someone!
- Finally, PICTURES are still a big part of this website! I’m looking for a way to get them a little more prominently displayed, but for now, you have to click the link on the left-hand side of the page. Look under the “Pages” sidebar, then click the “Photo Albums” link. You can follow the instructions on that page on how to get the pictures. As always, if you’d like a full-sized version for prints or whatever, just ask. NOTE: Because of the nature of the internet, I have password-protected the photos. If you have not obtained the password, write me at “jonlparks at embarqmail dot com” and I’ll send it to you.

PS – Oh, I forgot – if you’re pining for the old website, it’s still available! All new updates will come here, but the archives of the previous site are still available (for now). On the “Pages” box on the left-hand side, you’ll see a link called “parks-family.net 1.0.” Or you can simply CLICK HERE for now.
